The purpose of this role is to ensure best-in-class service levels at the most competitive cost by managing logistics providers across warehousing and transportation. The role will focus on developing and implementing continuous improvement plans, with a strong emphasis on optimizing the end-to-end logistics flow to achieve outstanding customer service levels.
Implement company procedures and ensure the maintenance of quality certifications for warehousing and logistics, in collaboration with local 3PL providers and central functions.
Areas of responsibility:
Implement company procedure end ensuring the maintenance of quality certificates for warehousing and logistics in collaboration with the local 3pl and central functions.
Assure quality of logistics processes in warehousing and local distribution, analysis of emerging problems to identity the root cause and interactions with central functions, including procurement.
Coordinate of logistics operations, both internal and outsourced, to complete the sale with a zero-distance attitude (including local customs operations ,if any).
Manage the local external supplier to ensure appropriate level of service and competitive costs.
Track the costs arising during the year and controlling their compliance with the budget.
Contribute to the FO budget built up (DD %, Local distribution Freight).
Control the FI Budget built up in terms of standard costs and central recharges.
Develop and implement plans and actions to reduce costs and improve service level.
Activities:
Manage the unloading priorities according to the indications of the Demand/Supply Planners, giving instructions to the Inland Carriers to move containers (i.e main Customer in Bulgaria).
Manage Demurrages and Detentions costs, driving the “last mile” flows in order to avoid extra costs and optimize the trade-off between D&D and DD; in case the customer is delaying the release of the unloading booking.
Develop and manage Off Dock and Cross Dock solutions.
Interact with Demand/Supply Planners and OTD (order to delivery)
Develop and manage BGT/ACT locals costs control.
Support local finance for month closure and Forecast process related to logistics costs
Manage third party suppliers to assure adequate service levels and competitive costs.
Manage inventory levels and track transit of the goods from the plants to the port of destination and to the final customer.
Assure proper stock security to preserve company assets.
Assure Logistics product Quality in warehousing and distribution, analyzing arising cases to identify the root cause and interact with central functions to reduce the returns rate.
Analyze operative and economic KPI’s. Using internal tool as Qlik, Power BI,GIT, Wakeo.
Manage operations and expedite immediately in case of urgent needs or any urgent issue in Inbound, Warehousing, Distribution, Returns
Authorize invoice payment (confirmation that the service has been executed and price correctness) for local logistics costs (ex.: DTHC, Inland, Customs, D&D, Warehousing, Distribution, Off Dock, Cross Dock, …)
Collaborate (if needed) with HQE and HQD procurement and RRS department for the Gob (Annual Global Ocean Bid preparation)
What you need to succeed
Must have
Strong knowledge of logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, distribution, and customs.
Solid skills in budget control, cost analysis, and logistics KPI monitoring.
Ability to identify root causes, solve operational issues, and drive continuous improvement plans
Education: Bachelor or Master Degree
Professional experience
Experience in managing 3PL providers and external suppliers, ensuring high service levels and cost efficiency.
Experience in inventory management, stock control, and product quality assurance
Technical & Soft Skills:
Strong analytical mindset with good knowledge of reporting tools
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proactive, results-oriented approach with strong customer focus.
Languages: Fluency in English and Italian
