About Role:
The Director, Procurement – Data & Digital Enablement is responsible for defining and executing the digital strategy for the procurement function, enabling technology-driven transformation and operational excellence across the enterprise.
This role leads the adoption, integration, and optimization of digital procurement technologies, automation capabilities and AI enabled solutions to enhance efficiency, transparency, and value delivery. The Director works at the intersection of Procurement, Technology, Data, and Operations to build a modern, digitally enabled procurement organization.
The role oversees procurement technology platforms, automation initiatives, and data-driven capabilities while ensuring alignment with enterprise technology strategy. By leveraging advanced digital tools, process automation, and analytics, the Director drives scalable procurement operations, improves decision-making, and strengthens supplier collaboration.
Role Responsibilities:
Procurement Digital Strategy
Define and lead the enterprise procurement digital strategy aligned with Procurement, Technology and corporate objectives.
Develop a multi-year roadmap to modernize procurement through digital tools, automation, AI solutions and advanced analytics.
Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve procurement efficiency, compliance, and value creation.
Position procurement as a digitally enabled strategic function across the enterprise.
Procurement Technology Leadership
Own the procurement technology ecosystem, including Source-to-Pay platforms, supplier management tools, and analytics solutions.
Ensure the effective implementation, optimization, and adoption of procurement technology platforms.
Partner with enterprise Technology and digital teams to align procurement technology with broader enterprise architecture.
Bring and build expertise across all Procurement category areas i.e. directs, indirects, CMO (contract manufacturing), as well as Sustainability.
Evaluate emerging procurement technologies and digital innovations to enhance procurement capabilities.
Automation & Process Innovation
Lead the identification and deployment of automation opportunities across procurement processes, including sourcing, contracting, purchasing, and supplier management.
Implement automation solutions such as workflow automation, robotic process automation (RPA), and AI-enabled procurement capabilities.
Drive design and implementation of Enterprise Transformation in collaboration with GPOs.
Drive efficiency improvements in areas such as:
Category strategy development
Spend cube and related analytics
Sustainability analytics
Supplier performance & relationship management
Contract management
Supplier onboarding
Requisition-to-order creation
Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, cycle times, and operational efficiency.
Data, Analytics & Digital Insights
Establish advanced analytics capabilities to support data-driven procurement decisions.
Leverage spend analytics, supplier intelligence, and predictive insights to support enhancement of category strategies and risk management.
Develop digital dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility into procurement performance and supplier outcomes.
Promote a culture of data-driven procurement across teams and stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Digital Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Technology, Finance, Quality & Supply Chain, wider Procurement and Transformation office to implement integrated digital solutions.
Lead cross-functional initiatives that embed procurement technology into enterprise workflows and operating models.
Ensure digital procurement solutions deliver value for internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Digital Adoption & Change Management
Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of procurement technologies and automated processes.
Drive capability building across procurement teams to enhance digital literacy and tool utilization.
Establish governance structures that ensure consistent use of procurement platforms and data standards.
Supplier Digital Integration
Enable digital collaboration with suppliers through technology platforms that support sourcing, onboarding, performance management, and innovation.
Improve supplier experience and engagement through streamlined digital processes.
Support supplier data transparency and risk monitoring through digital tools.
Team management
Manage a team (~10-12 people) performing structured across category and expertise/key platform areas.
Drive continuous improvements, ensuring Global Procurement can deliver maximum value to the business.
Manage the team capability and motivation, ensuring synergies and seamless collaboration happens across all levels.

Basic Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Risk Management, or a related field (or any bachelor’s degree with relevant experience)
20+ years of experience in procurement, digital transformation, or procurement technology
Strong understanding of procurement best practices, policies, and tools
Experience implementing and operating procurement platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, Ivalua)
Proven track record of delivering automation and process transformation initiatives
Hands-on experience with automation technologies (RPA, AI, workflow tools), data analytics, and dashboarding
Experience managing large-scale projects with end-to-end service and operations ownership
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, global business environment
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including development of executive-level presentations and business cases
High level of fluency in spoken and written English
High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
Experience managing teams directly and influencing stakeholders indirectly
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
High learning agility with the ability to solve complex problems with limited oversight
Preferred Skills
Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Risk Management, or a related field
Procurement or related professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, PMP)
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and shape strategy within and beyond own organizational unit
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to motivate and drive change through collaboration
Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing talent
Proven commitment to continuous professional development and knowledge sharing
