What you will do:
Join our team and you will be joining our cause to build a world that’s safe, comfortable and sustainable. As a Technical Purchasing Coordinator, you’ll be part of our diverse global team making a significant impact on our organization. You will procure assigned materials for indirect materials such as tooling, components, supplies, equipment and services that meet the engineering organization’s requirements for quality, delivery, price, terms, lead times, and stocking levels.
How you will do it:
Serve as the primary coordination point between engineering teams and suppliers to support prototype, development, and low volume material purchasing activities
Collect, clarify, and document technical requirements, specifications, drawings, and quantities from engineers to support supplier quoting activities
Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with capable and preferred suppliers for engineered components, tooling, and services
Request, track, and evaluate supplier quotations in collaboration with engineering to ensure alignment on technical requirements, lead times, and total cost
Act as a liaison between engineering teams and suppliers, coordinating responses to supplier questions and supporting clarification of drawings, specifications, and requirements
Initiate purchase requisitions and coordinate purchase order issuance in accordance with internal approval processes and ERP systems
Track purchase orders from issuance through delivery, including expediting suppliers as needed to meet project and build schedules
Coordinate material receipt activities with warehouse and build-room personnel, including confirmation of quantities, documentation, and delivery status
Collect and maintain shipment tracking information from suppliers and provide regular status updates to engineering and project teams
Maintain accurate purchasing records including requisitions, purchase orders, receipts, supplier communications, and pricing history
Support resolution of invoice discrepancies, delivery issues, and specification mismatches in collaboration with suppliers, finance, and engineering
Generate and maintain material tracking, cost, and delivery reports to support engineering and program management scheduling
Assist with inventory organization and coordination of engineering materials, components, and piece parts as required
Coordinate purchasing activities across multiple engineering teams and projects, balancing priorities and schedule constraints
What we look for:
Required
1 to 3 years experience in purchasing or production and Inventory control.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Proven negotiation skills.
Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office.
Proficient with ERP and computer based purchasing systems.
Preferred
Experience in working in a cross-functional team environment.
Basic mechanical aptitude - understanding of mechanical parts and equipment.
Experience with or understanding of purchasing systems desired.
Specific experience with purchasing mechanical components and machining services highly valued.
SALARY RANGE: $48,000- $72,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
