The Laboratory Coordinator I, under general supervision, supplies, maintains, and organizes laboratory equipment. Prepares materials and trains teaching assistants.
Please Note: The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
Responsibilities:
Teaches or assist in teaching general biology laboratory courses.
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.
Coordinate laboratory prep and breakdown of teaching labs.
Maintain and monitor safety policies with EHS,(safety forms, disposal, EHS audits.).
Maintain department equipment inventory and reporting. Maintain and monitor Account Activity binder of all accounts use for purchasing supplies and equipment for labs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
One year of related experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
Ability to identify, assess, and solve problems.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Other Requirements:
Ability to lift light objects. Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
