Dinsmore is seeking an Asbestos Litigation Paralegal at our Pittsburgh, PA location to support attorneys in complex toxic tort and asbestos litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of asbestos defense procedures, case management, discovery practices, medical and exposure records, and trial preparation in high-volume litigation environments. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and experience working with national, regional, or local asbestos defense counsel. Responsibilities • Assist attorneys in all phases of asbestos and toxic tort litigation • Manage large caseloads involving asbestos exposure claims and related defense matters • Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, motions, and correspondence • Coordinate document production, review, indexing, and organization of large volumes of records • Analyze medical, employment, military, Social Security, and exposure records • Maintain deposition summaries, witness files, and expert materials • Track filing deadlines, court appearances, and scheduling orders across multiple jurisdictions • Prepare trial binders, exhibits, chronologies, and witness materials • Coordinate with clients, experts, vendors, and co-counsel • Perform cite-checking and legal research as needed • Utilize litigation management databases and e-discovery platforms • Assist with settlement tracking and bankruptcy trust claim analysis where applicable • Support trial teams during hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials Requirements • Minimum 3+ years of asbestos defense litigation experience preferred • Strong understanding of asbestos litigation procedures and toxic tort defense practices • Experience handling discovery and document-intensive litigation • Familiarity with state and federal court filing systems, including e-filing platforms • Knowledge of medical terminology and exposure histories preferred • Experience with litigation support software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment
