We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to prepare and coordinate accurate, timely bids for playground and athletic surfacing projects. In this role, you will review project specifications, perform take-offs, and develop comprehensive cost estimates to support successful project bidding. The ideal candidate has experience in construction estimating, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret construction documents and collaborate with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities Estimating & Project Analysis (70%) • Review and evaluate Requests for Estimates (RFEs) and bid documents • Develop and maintain a weekly bid calendar to ensure timely submissions • Perform detailed take-offs from construction drawings and specifications • Prepare accurate and complete bid estimates using spreadsheets and estimating tools • Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy • Identify and communicate any discrepancies or missing information in project documents • Maintain organized documentation and project files Customer & Partner Coordination (10%) • Communicate with customers, contractors, and internal representatives • Assist in resolving technical questions related to project scope or materials Technical & Design Support (10%) • Provide support to architects and engineers regarding product specifications and design considerations Marketing & Administrative Support (10%) • Respond to customer inquiries by providing brochures and product information • Assist with creation of marketing materials, including cut sheets and collateral • Participate in trade shows and occasional site or architectural meetings
Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required • 3–5 years of estimating or related construction experience preferred • Strong understanding of construction or building materials • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office tools • Strong math skills (including fractions, percentages, and measurements) • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
