SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Server Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of the Bank’s server infrastructure environment, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and operational stability of enterprise systems. The role supports Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, cloud services, storage systems, and related infrastructure technologies while ensuring compliance with the Bank’s IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements. The role holder also provides technical support, automation, troubleshooting, and infrastructure enhancement initiatives to ensure reliable and secure IT operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities
Server Management & Maintenance:
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and UNIX/Linux servers.
• Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
• Monitor server performance and appropriate action well in advance
• Perform proper Infra. hardware sizing and capacity planning
Virtualization & Cloud Management:
• Administer VMware vSphere, vCenter, and vSAN.
• Manage Nutanix AHV, Prism Central and CVM.
• Manage Fujitsu SDDC and VxRail clusters.
• Support hybrid cloud environments (Exchange on-prem & Microsoft 365).
Security & Compliance:
• Apply security patches and updates.
• Apply security hardening and manage endpoint protection.
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and regulations.
• Monitor and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
Automation & Scripting:
• Develop PowerShell and Bash scripts for automation.
• Deploy updates and configurations via ManageEngine Endpoint Central.
• Optimize system performance through automated tasks.
User Support & Documentation:
• Provide Level 2 and 3 support for escalated issues under server domain.
• Maintain system documentation and troubleshooting guides.
• Assist with IT projects and infrastructure improvements.
Networking & Storage:
• Work with IT networking teams to configure VLANs, firewall rules, and access controls.
• Manage SAN/NAS storage solutions and ensure proper provisioning.
• Manage SAN switches, Zoning & fiber connectivity.

• Drive continuous process improvement through innovative, automated, and digital solutions once required
