Senior Construction (Mechanical) Coordinator

Since 2003, Worley’s Alliance team have been successfully providing Engineering services to Tomago Aluminium, one of Australasia’s largest aluminium smelters.

Our projects range from minor works through to large transformational projects, offering you exposure to a large and diverse asset.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Coordinator to join the team.

In this role, you will support project delivery and coordination, ensuring major maintenance, minor capital projects, and other work packages are delivered safely and effectively.

This role is based on site at the Tomago Smelter and presents a fantastic opportunity to join one of Worley’s key contracts with long-term, successful client relationships. This is a contract role for 12 months initially with likelihood to extend. 

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects from initiation through to site installation and commissioning.
• Manage all aspects of project delivery including scope definition, scheduling, procurement (SAP), contractor engagement, and client interaction.
• Coordinate site inspections and meetings with contractors and client representatives.
• Create, issue, and manage work permits.
• Ensure contractor performance, accountability, and compliance with site requirements.
• Maintain strong adherence to HSE standards and site procedures.

Candidate Criteria

• Mechanical trade qualification with demonstrated experience managing contractors.
• Significant experience working on industrial sites.
• Strong focus on client satisfaction and delivery outcomes.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and a strong team player.
• Ability to work independently with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
