Key purpose of the role:
This role will be a key enabler for the analysis, design and development of BA project deliverables This is role is required to evolve, extend and improve business process effectiveness and minimise risk whilst assessing new concepts against current systems and procedures, analysing stakeholder needs from and end-to-end perspective, engaging internal and external clients.
This role will sit within Markets Division on the Controls Remediation project, with the objective to build controls in the clearing risk platform application.
Your responsibilities

You are a practitioner/team member of the Business Analyst Capability Community of Practice (CoP).
Work with impacted stakeholders to perform deep dive gap analysis on the As-Is state and the To Be State, allowing for effective review by project team members and impacted stakeholders.
Liaise with assigned Project/Program Owners and Subject Matter Experts for elicitation, analysis, prioritisation and approval of new business requests within associated projects.
Define transitions of business processes to the strategic state, with interim/tactical states where needed.
Analyse and map process flows, domain models, system data flows and associated life cycle events to determine and manage transition to the target state.
Elicitation, preparation and generation of business requirements (including functional and non-functional) in the form of epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria and clearly articulate to a wide audience including developers, testers, vendors and project stakeholders.
Use formal modelling techniques to assist in the representation of business requirements.
Liaise with counterparts in related internal project/domain teams to understand dependencies, constraints, associated requirements and agree upon and deliver solutions.
Review and contribute to specific test scenarios and the overall Test Strategy.
Liaise with IT solution providers (internal & external) on project progress and problem resolution.
Ability to assume cross-functional responsibilities when needed, such as running project coordination, daily stand-ups, retros and backlog grooming sessions.
Work with Release Management to ensure a smooth implementation and transition phase.
Contribution to change management activities and preparation of training artefacts that would enable impacted stakeholders to apply the changes introduced by a delivered business requirement. Conduct peer review of business analysis artefacts to ensure quality and alignment to framework. Produce high quality business analysis deliverables using relevant techniques and tools in line with the ASX delivery framework.
Being an active member of, the BA Community of Practice (CoP).
Your experience and qualifications
Must have:
Proficiency in analysing large datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and gaps
Ability to query databases (Oracle, SQL Server) to retrieve, map, and update data
Expertise in tracking data from source to target, understanding data transformations, and maintaining mapping documents.
Knowledge of listed financial products like stocks, warrants, options and futures
Supporting stakeholders in adapting to new processes
5+ years dedicated business analysis experience working on Agile, Lean and Waterfall projects.
Experience working independently on Tier 1 project across the full SDLC from early ideation to execution and embedment in BAU.
Deep understanding of the business analysis fundamentals.
Experience in gathering stakeholder needs and translating these to detailed requirements
Experience in business process modelling using software such as MS Visio or other enterprise endorsed platforms.
Experience using Atlassian tool suite (JIRA and Confluence).
Effective communication, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills. Can collaborate with stakeholders across seniority levels.
Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage change within a dynamic environment.
Be comfortable working within a matrix structure.
Experience working with Change Management and influencing user behaviour.

Sound knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) for data manipulation, and data visualization tools like Tableau
Understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data integration and migration.
Cloud Solutions: Knowledge of Cloud based services in AWS
Understanding of data governance principles (data stewardship, data quality rules) to ensure long-term compliance
Experience in working with implementation of controls for data movement across applications
Experience in working with quantitative risk management applications
Knowledge of quantitative risk measurement concepts like value at risk, stress testing
Business Analysis Certification, eg. IIBA CBAP.
Financial services background with knowledge gained through industry experience
