About the role
The Senior Communications and Marketing Business Partner plays a pivotal role in bringing to life the vision for RMIT University Pathways (RMIT UP). Reporting to the Associate Director, Communications and Marketing, you will work closely with the CEO Office and the Leadership Team to develop and implement communication and marketing strategies that promote and uplift the growth of RMIT UP and position it as an industry leader in transformative student experiences.
This is a hands-on role, leading the development and delivery of integrated communications, engagement initiatives and marketing campaigns for both internal and external audiences. You will create compelling content, support and promote events, manage projects, work with agencies and suppliers, and ensure RMIT UP’s narrative is impactful and consistently told across channels.
You will collaborate with key areas across the business – including International Student Recruitment and Business, Student Experience and Wellbeing, Student Services, IT and HR and connect RMIT UP with the broader RMIT University Communications ecosystem, ensuring our staff, student and alumni stories are visible and aligned with enterprise-wide messages.
Key responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
Develop and implement high-quality communication and marketing strategies and content that support RMIT UP’s strategic initiatives internally and externally.
Partner with and support the Leadership Team and wider RMIT UP teams on projects, events, campaigns and marketing materials.
Develop integrated communication and marketing plans with a strong, aligned narrative to support business priorities, seeking strategic guidance from the Associate Director, Communications and Marketing where needed.
Build and maintain productive, professional cross-functional relationships with subject matter experts, leaders, teaching staff, students, agents, industry partners, networks, media, and the wider University Communications team.
Represent RMIT UP and its strategic goals within RMIT University and with external partners and networks.
Execute communications campaigns across internal and external audiences, including email newsletters, media releases, social media and digital content, and event-related communications.
Ensure all communications are high quality, outcome-focused, strategically aligned and delivered through the most effective channel mix.
Continually review and refine communication channels for effectiveness and impact.
Support the establishment and maintenance of networks to ensure consistency and quality of communications across the organisation.
Provide communications, marketing, design and content support for RMIT UP events, including planning and promotion.
About You
Experienced communications and/or marketing professional with a strong background in developing and delivering integrated campaigns.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to tailor content for different audiences and channels.
Confident working with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders, building strong, productive relationships across a complex organisation.
Hands-on approach, enjoying content creation, event support and leading projects from concept through to delivery.
Strategic and innovative thinker who can shape clear narratives that support organisational priorities and bring brand stories to life.
Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative and team-focused, while also able to work independently and use initiative to solve problems.
Proficient in using digital tools and channels (e.g. email, social media, web, internal comms platforms) to engage staff, students and external audiences.
