The opportunity
Due to success and growth Downer are seeking a Project Manager to join their Energy & Utilities team working within the water division. Excellent stage to come and join the company to fully develop and grow the business further for our Wellington region
What you’ll do
- Work with the key people on identifying, engineering solutions, scoping, estimating, quoting and delivering projects
- Set parameters, direction, outcomes and requirements to the team / subcontractors undertaking the works such that it meets / exceeds the requirements, specification and expectations of both Downer and the Client
- Take overall responsibility for sites and areas where your projects are being undertaken including quality of work, appearance, cleanliness, compliance, Health and Safety
- Records and schedules are updated accurately to allow regularly and timely invoicing of project
- Build, and maintain strong, positive relationships with client based on trust, integrity and open communication
- Manage operations to achieve a superior level of safety, environmental and quality performance
- In conjunction with the Manager and the Zero Harm Manager/ Advisor, promote safe and environmentally sound working practices and a culture of safe and responsible behaviors and attitudes, ensuring safety and environmental initiatives and achievements are publicised and rewarded

What we’re looking for
- Relevant engineering and/or project, construction or civil management qualifications
- Water treatment project experience (highly regarded)
- Proven experience within a contracting environment
- Strong project delivery expertise, including scoping, costing and execution
- Demonstrated commitment to Zero Harm and HSEQ leadership
- Solid technical, commercial and financial acumen
- Broad understanding of construction/civil engineering practices, compliance and financial controls
- A collaborative team player who actively contributes to shared goals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong prioritisation and time management capability
- Highly organised, efficient and deadline driven
- Ability to operate effectively in a busy, dynamic environment with sound judgement and professionalism
