Aged Care Home & Community Assistant. Permanent Part Time & Casual - Townsville

About the Role

As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians in Townsville so they can continue living independently in their own homes. You will travel between clients’ homes to support multiple people each day, so a willingness to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed .99c per KM travelled while you are working).

We have Permanent Part Time and Casual opportunities with shifts available between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work and no evening or overnight shifts. This is a great opportunity for someone who is new to the industry and looking to make a positive impact in their community, while developing their skills and building a career.

Key Responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as light house cleaning and meal preparation
• Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and wellbeing
• Community access to medical appointments and social activities
• Provide support with daily tasks and routines
• Build positive relationships with clients and their families

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience supporting elderly Australians with daily living, mental health and dementia supports
• An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
• Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
