The Director – AV & Creative Technology leads the strategy, governance, procurement, and delivery of audiovisual, show, and immersive technology systems across Qiddiya City’s location-based entertainment and theme park portfolio.
The role ensures that creative technology systems deliver world-class guest experiences while meeting the highest standards of performance, reliability, safety, and operational sustainability. The Director provides strategic oversight across multiple attractions and park-wide systems, aligning creative vision with technical execution, commercial strategy, and long-term operational performance.
Working closely with creative leaders, technical consultants, integrators, and internal stakeholders, the Director safeguards design intent while enabling scalable, future-ready solutions that support Qiddiya’s long-term
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Technology Roadmap
- Define and lead the creative technology strategy for audiovisual, show control, media, and immersive systems across attractions, lands, and park-wide infrastructure.
- Establish long-term technology roadmaps aligned with the broader entertainment and guest experience vision.
- Identify emerging technologies and innovations that can enhance storytelling and guest engagement across the portfolio.
- Governance, Standards & Technical Authority
- Establish and enforce AV and creative technology standards, system architectures, and technical design guidelines across projects.
- Provide senior technical leadership to ensure consistency, quality, and lifecycle sustainability across multiple attractions and facilities.
- Act as the technical authority for show systems, immersive technologies, and AV integration across the entertainment portfolio.
- Creative & Experience Alignment
- Partner with Creative, Media, Experience Design, and Attraction Development teams to translate storytelling into executable technology strategies.
- Safeguard creative intent while balancing operational, technical, schedule, and budget considerations.
- Guide the development of immersive and interactive experiences through effective integration of AV, media, and show technologies.
- Procurement Strategy & Contract Oversight
- Define procurement strategies for AV and creative technology systems across attractions and park-wide infrastructure.
- Oversee preparation of technical scopes, specifications, and tender documentation for consultants, media vendors, and system integrators.
- Lead technical evaluations of proposals and support commercial negotiations in coordination with procurement and legal teams.
- Provide executive oversight of contract administration including compliance, change management, and performance monitoring.
- Project Delivery Oversight
- Provide executive oversight of AV and show technology delivery across all project phases including concept, design, procurement, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning.
- Monitor progress across multiple projects to ensure alignment with schedule, budget, and performance expectations.
- Participate in major technical milestones including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), rehearsals, and commissioning approvals.
- Systems Integration & Risk Management
- Ensure successful integration between AV systems, ride systems, facility infrastructure, IT platforms, and operational technologies.
- Identify technical and commercial risks related to show and media systems and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure system architectures support reliability, redundancy, cybersecurity, and future scalability.
- Operational Readiness & Lifecycle Management
- Ensure AV and show systems are designed for long-term operational performance, maintainability, and high guest throughput environments.
- Oversee development of operational documentation, maintenance strategies, training programs, and system handover processes.
- Support transition from project delivery to park operations to ensure successful long-term asset performance.
- Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor AV and creative technology specialists within the organization.
- Manage relationships with consultants, media studios, system integrators, and technology vendors.
- Serve as the senior interface between creative, technical, operational, and commercial teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Media Technology, Entertainment Technology, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Entertainment Technology, or Business Administration is advantageous.
- 15–20+ years of experience delivering audiovisual systems, show technology, or immersive media environments for theme parks, location-based entertainment, museums, or major attractions.
- Proven experience leading AV strategy, procurement, and integration for complex entertainment developments or mega-projects.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and large consultant/vendor ecosystems.
- Experience working on large-scale destination entertainment developments is highly preferred.
