The Configuration Management (CM) organization is responsible for transforming product requirements as well as engineering design intent into actionable product definition.
Through utilization of our Product Lifecycle Management (GTCC) and Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) space, we deliver on-time and quality product definition to supply chain functions globally. Gas Power Engineering (GPE) and customers are also partners and consumers of CM output.
The Order to Remittance (OTR) CM organization is focused on the creation and maintenance of the project structure and Bill of Materials (BOM) for New Unit Requisitions from Order Release through the equipment’s Commercial Operation Date (COD), in addition to supporting Conversion, Modification and Uprate (CMU) projects.
By joining the Project Execution Structuring team, you will be a Lead Engineer that transforms customer requirements into the Bill of Materials (BOM) for Steam Turbines. You will be at the intersection of engineering, systems, quality, and process improvement, while contributing to the successful execution of real customer projects.
Job Description
Specifically, this position is responsible for the following tasks:
- Owner and accountable for FPY, OTD and other metrics related to BOM Quality for owned projects. Address issues and implement improvements to the processes.
- Collaborate with other functions (such as Sourcing, Manufacturing, Project Engineering, Design Engineering, other CMPD teams, etc.) towards continuous improvement and Lean activities.
- Timely solve any conflict among the different organizations, involving the scope of Project Structuring applicable to the different technologies.
- Builds expertise quickly in technical product data, systems, and Configuration Management topics.
- Executes BOM Tasks (PBOMSTART, PBOMMEET, MLILIST, PBOMACTIONS; and particular support to EBOM and UNITBOM process release)
- Collaborate with our Global TLs and Senior Engineers by supporting 1 or 2 initiatives to improve Operational KPIs and achieve Priorities and Breakthrough objectives (Quality, On Time Delivery, One Project Schedule, etc.)
- Recommends tool enhancements (PALM deployment projects).
- Implements and leads the solution of technical problems.
- Embraces innovation through Amp solutions to the team
Qualifications – Required
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Computer Science
- Experience in process use and development with regards to product definition development, Bill of Material management, configuration management concepts, program/project scheduling and field installation
Qualifications - Desired
- Strong oral and written communication skills with peers and leadership
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, establish and maintain solid relationships with engineering, product management, sourcing and manufacturing areas
- Strong organizational, facilitation and leadership skills
- Proven track record of concurrently managing projects, monitoring progress and quality
- ISO 9001:2015 familiarity
