Job Description Summary
The GA&S FP&A Leader is responsible for all financial planning, reporting and analytics for the business/ the entity. This is a unique opportunity to work on two distinct but highly synergistic businesses: Grid Automation ($1.1B revenue) and Grid Software ($0.7B revenue).
Serving as a key strategic partner to the CFO and Leadership Team, you will drive operational accountability, champion the GE Vernova Way, and achieve double-digit revenue growth while unlocking significant profitability.
As the FP&A leader you will also serve as the Integration finance leader driving two critical pillars:
1. Business Value Creation: Provide the financial modeling, synergy tracking, and strategic insight required to capture $100M+ in value creation, ensuring the combined $1.8B entity maximizes profitability.
2. Finance Function Integration: As coordinator for GA&S FP&A, you will harmonize financial systems, standardize reporting, and build a unified, high-performing GA&S FP&A team.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Target Setting: Lead all planning cycles (annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range strategy). Ensure operational targets are clearly defined, cascaded, and owned by functional leaders across the business.
- Performance Forecasting: Drive the quarterly pacing of orders, revenue, contribution margin, base costs, and operating profit. Identify financial gaps early and partner with the business to close them.
- Reporting & Process Ownership: Manage the financial closing process and end-to-end forecasting—from initial data generation to executive-level presentations. Provide the organization with clear, actionable visibility into actuals versus targets.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Tax and Controllership on income forecasting, ensuring that all financial systems and infrastructure meet strict enterprise compliance and reporting standards.
- Operational Cost & Cash Management: Go beyond traditional FP&A by acting as the hands-on financial operator for a ~$0.5B cost base. Take the lead on daily cost controls, capital allocation, and driving free cash flow generation across the business.
- Team Coaching & Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a global FP&A team of 10+ finance professionals. Foster a high-performance culture rooted in the GE Vernova Way, emphasizing lean principles, continuous improvement, and the development of next-generation finance talent.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant finance experience, including proven success in a finance leadership role.
- Direct experience in the Grid/Energy industry and/or Software industry.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and execute concrete action plans under tight deadlines.
- Strategic thinker with established analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication and coaching skills, with the ability to influence and lead within a complex, matrixed organization
Desired Characteristics
- Master’s degree in business administration or finance; or CPA preferred.
- Deep understanding of software products, capabilities, and the broader industry landscape.
Familiarity with controllership, accounting, and tax/legal issues (prior controllership assessment experience is a plus).
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $190,000 and $290,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
