An exciting vacancy exists at Corporate Office for an experienced Buyer within the Supply Chain Management Division.
Key Performance Outputs:
The successful candidate will be reporting to Group Manager Procurement and will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Ensure adherence to the approved procurement plans in accordance with stakeholder needs.
- Implement cost saving and value creation initiatives
- Acquisition Management
- Execute and administer RFX process of R5million and above
- Assume the chairperson role for RFX process
- Evaluate the RFX in line within delegated levels
- Organise, Chair and coordinate the negotiation process within Delegated levels with bidders
- Ensure timely conclusion of the contracting / purchase order process
- Provide progress reports and participate in weekly progress meetings when required
- Report on relevant supplier performance and continuous search for potential service providers to meet the organisation’s transformation goals.
- Identify, analyse and mitigate SCM related risks
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and applicable prescripts
- Ensure adherence to approved legislation and transformation imperatives.
- Implement BBBEE strategies to ensure required targets are met.
- Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
- Deliver cost benefits in line with approved savings methodology
- Participate in the Procurement planning process, coordinate and lead functional projects
- Compile, submit and present various reports
Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
- Diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain Management / Finance / Public Management is essential
- 3-5 years’ experience in Public Procurement (Operational) is essential
- Registration with Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply (CIPS) OR SAPICS is advantageous
- Membership with Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply (CIPS) OR SAPICS is advantageous
- Intermediate Microsoft Office/ERP system
- Code B; Motor vehicle license
