The role
As Strategic Delivery Partner within our newly-established Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), you’ll play a critical role in strengthening delivery performance across Vector’s most important strategic initiatives.
Working closely with the GM EPMO, sponsors and programme leads, you’ll bring a proven, hands-on and insight-led approach to Vector’s strategically significant projects. You’ll operate across multiple initiatives at any point in time, and work across the full project lifecycle – from developing and defining projects with analysis and insights, to tracking and supporting delivery to close-out and helping ensure outcomes are achieved against scope, time and budget.
This role is far more than governance or reporting. You’ll bring a proven set of problem-solving skills and provide hands-on support where an opportunity needs to be sized and defined, delivery needs momentum or decisions are stuck. You’ll also bring a wide, fungible skill set, and be willing to lean in to supporting teams for short periods where they need additional capacity. From shaping and supporting strategic decisions, to accelerating resourcing or resolving cross-programme dependencies, you’ll move fluidly between big-picture thinking and detailed execution, and have communications and presentation experience at all levels of business.
As a team, the EPMO will maintain an operating drumbeat for projects and the executive, ensuring accountability remains strong and translating insight into tangible progress.
What makes this opportunity unique is the combination of high-impact work and long-term growth. You’ll be exposed to executive and board-level conversations, contributing to nationally significant initiatives at the heart of New Zealand’s energy transition. At the same time, this role offers genuine consulting-style variety and influence (with the continuity and ownership of an in-house role) and a potential pathway into a future leadership positions within the EPMO and Vector.
