This position is responsible for overseeing and managing losses directly handled by claims professionals across a nationwide portfolio encompassing multiple policy forms and exposure types, with the primary focus being commercial auto - trucking (interstate and intrastate exposures). Successful candidates will have the ability to balance the daily needs of the team, our insureds, and business partners while upholding the highest standards of integrity and honesty. This position plays a key role in protecting Trisura’s brand while fostering strong working relationships with internal and external parties. A deep understanding of insurance regulations, strategic oversight of claims from inception through resolution, good faith claims handling practices, coverage and liability analysis, pre-trial and trial strategy, and the roles and responsibilities of Third-Party Administrators, as well as a dedication to serving our insureds, is required. This position reports to Vice President – Delegated Authority Claims.

Responsibilities • Delegated Authority: Provide strategic oversight and guidance to claims administrators operating within a delegated authority framework, ensuring appropriate application of coverage, investigation, evaluation, mitigation, and resolution. Consult on coverage analysis, liability assessment, reserving strategy aligned with Trisura’s reserving philosophy, and overall resolution approach. Identify matters requiring internal escalation and initiate cash calls to facilitate timely funding from cedents. Maintain detailed documentation of oversight activity, communications, and key decision, actively monitoring claim progression to ensure alignment with Trisura’s interests. • Oversight Management: Engage proactively with claims administrators beyond referred matters through regular meetings, file reviews, structured touchpoints, and participation in audit kick-off and wrap-up meetings. Contribute to ongoing training initiatives and remain current on emerging trends – sharing subject matter insights with the team. • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as Trisura’s primary point of contact for claim matters associated with assigned program(s), and is responsible for responding to requests with accurate, complete, and timely information. Participate in new-business and renewal roundtables, program reviews, and lead new or transfer program implementation meetings with engaged claims administrator. • Portfolio Monitoring: Analyze claims data, audit results, and performance trends to actively manage the assigned portfolio and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations in a manner appropriate for the audience and required level of detail. • Travel as necessary to support mediations, trials, or other claim-related matters. • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job description.
Qualifications • Minimum of five (5) years of claims management or supervisory experience involving complex casualty (high exposure/severity, complicated liability profile, legal and jurisdictional complexity, etc.) • Minimum of ten (10) years of direct claims handling experience in commercial auto – trucking (interstate and intrastate exposures) • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business administration, finance, or related field preferred; insurance designations are a plus • Active, in-good-standing resident state multi-line adjuster license • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
