JANITOR CS Home: Westside LTC Location: Etobicoke, ON Hourly wage: starting at $22.93 Position: Janitor CS Status: Part-Time Schedule: Day shifts (6:30am-2:30pm)

Reports to: Environmental Service Manager The Janitor provides essential support to the residence by maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, ensuring that residents live in a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained space.
Key Responsibilities: • Follow the home’s Preventive Maintenance Program as well as the Demand Maintenance Program • Regularly perform the various tasks described in the programs • Regularly checking completed maintenance logs in each department/home area of the home • Complete repairs as necessary including not limited to: Painting, wall repair, small leak, install (toilet, sink, tiling, doors, replace light fixtures, install blinds) • Check the operation of the mechanical equipment • Inspect Life Safety equipment and systems • Ensure safe storage of maintenance equipment • Complete regular maintenance reports • Complete pre-start up assessments on a new equipment as applicable • Coordinate annual preventive maintenance checks by contractors; and • Perform other duties as required • Must be available for call ins on short notice • Perform everything pertaining to maintenance including heavy duty related work
Knowledge and Skills Required: • Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to read and write the English language. • Experience in electrical, plumbing, patchwork, painting preferred • Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures. • Knowledgeable about WHMIS, OH & S • High School Diploma • College level trade certificate is an asset
Additional Requirements include: • A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date. • Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
