Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We sat down with our Head of Wealth & Insurance - Partnerships and Proposition, and they let us know the following about the role.
What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
The most exciting part of this role is the chance to own partner growth end‑to‑end and make a visible impact on both customer outcomes and commercial performance. You’ll sit at the centre of strategy and execution—building sharp partner business plans, shaping multi‑year roadmaps, and turning ideas into delivered results.
Just as importantly, this role is built for someone who thrives on relationships: building trust quickly, influencing with credibility, and creating momentum across BNZ and partner teams. It’s a genuine opportunity to create mutual value, bring people on the journey, and see your work land in market.
What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?
The challenge lies in balancing breadth and prioritisation across a complex partner portfolio while maintaining delivery momentum.
The role requires strong judgement to manage competing priorities, navigate dependencies, and make disciplined trade‑offs, particularly where external partner expectations and timelines need to be aligned with BNZ’s internal priorities, capacity, and governance. Adapting plans as market and partner dynamics evolve, while keeping teams focused on value, execution quality, and relationship health, is critical to success.
What will success look like for the candidate in this role?
Success will be demonstrated through high‑performing partnerships that deliver clear customer and commercial outcomes.
The candidate will have established strong partner business plans, a well‑prioritised initiative roadmap, and effective performance tracking, while managing commercial settings and development funds with discipline. They will build trusted partner relationships, maintain strong internal alignment, and consistently convert plans into delivered benefits for BNZ and its customers.
