Under the general direction, the Senior Technical Officer is responsible to provide a variety of professional and high-quality technical services to support the laboratory operations of the School of Science. The incumbent applies theoretical and technical knowledge to manage the delivery of a range of technical services to support academic staff with their research and teaching needs, ensuring their access to equipment, services and expertise. This includes overseeing and undertaking experiments preparation, Occupational Health and Safety inspection, monitoring delivery, demonstrating laboratory practical classes while ensuring a compliant and safe operating environment.
The candidate must have a degree with subsequent relevant experience in food science / food technology / nutrition.
Reporting Line: The position reports to the Manager, Laboratory Management Office or Principal Technical Officer under general direction.
