ROLE OVERVIEW:
Responsible to supervise and coordinate transportation processes and people to ensure timely delivery of needed products and equipment which include yellow iron and crusher/hot plant equipment moves, aggregate/hot mix hauling.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years of trucking supervisor experience preferred
- 3-4 years of dispatch supervisor experience
- Ability to hold and maintain a Class A or B CDL license in accordance with all state and federal DOT/FMCSA regulations
- General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise drivers associated with trucking operations. Collaborate with other departments to determine trucking needs/requirements, work with HR for onboarding of new drivers, work with Dispatch Supervisor to review previous processes and review with the Trucking Operations Manager improvement possibilities to create an efficient effective trucking process
- Assist with project and source required fleet analyze historical fleet usage, project future variations, and compile availability data.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
- ITO contracts – review weekly schedules with budget, analyze new and upcoming requirements, then produce an improved contract and pay rate schedule.
- Responsible to safely supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in trucking operations.
- Ensure equipment moves are completed.
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written); Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
- Assist with Permitting needs or equipment moves.
- Proficient with DOT rules and regulations.
- Maintain and implement applicable software system and programs.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (equipment operations/repairs, etc.)
- Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION:
$80,000 - $95,000 per year
