This is a 12-month, full-time, reporting to the Director of Digital Learning. The Instructional Designer works closely with the Academic units to develop, evaluate, and update digital course content for NWACC.Essential Duties:
Design and develop content and courses using instructional design strategies in various technology-enabled delivery formats.
Provide faculty training and course redesigns for microcredential and hybrid learning courses.
Host in-person and virtual meetings to fully address faculty needs and requests for assistance with new system adoptions, textbook changes, course design, etc.
Research emerging trends and technologies related to best practices in teaching and learning.
Develop workshops, webinars, instructional documents and recordings covering best practices in teaching and learning with educational technologies.
Provide technical and administrative support for the college’s learning management system and various educational technologies.
Administrate and support publisher systems connected to Canvas. Maintaining support contacts and documentation.
Participate in the development of the department’s long-term vision and strategic planning.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Rate of Pay: $51,193 annualized *Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Course content, workshop materials, or training artifacts to showcase demonstrated abilities during the interview
BS in Instructional Design or 4 years' work experience in training development or digital content design
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to design, create and deliver digital content and instructional materials using appropriate development tools, and to train and lead others in these endeavors.
Ability to build relationships with individuals and teams across the institution.
Ability to tactfully respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints.
Strong customer service skills with empathy and patience being first and foremost.
Knowledge of accessibility guidelines related to digital educational materials.
Ability to read, analyze, and understand academic and technical documents.
Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze information and recommend appropriate action.
Knowledge of higher education structure and practices.
