Plan and deliver creative, age-appropriate lessons and activities based on the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Foster holistic development in children aged 3–6, supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth through structured play and inquiry-based learning.
Promote an inclusive classroom that values diversity and caters to individual learning needs, backgrounds, and abilities.
Create a safe, stimulating, and welcoming classroom environment that reflects VAS’s values of respect, participation, and kindness.
Work closely with year-group colleagues and teaching assistants to coordinate teaching plans and share resources.
Assess and record children’s progress through observation, portfolios, and formative feedback to families and leadership.
Establish positive, ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding their child’s wellbeing and development.
Participate actively in school events, parent meetings, and early childhood enrichment activities.
Early Years Teaching Experience: Demonstrable experience teaching children in kindergarten, nursery, or preschool settings, ideally in an international or bilingual environment.
Relevant Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. EYTS, PGCE Early Years, QTS, or equivalent).
Knowledge of Early Years Curriculum: Strong understanding of international early childhood frameworks and a commitment to play-based, inclusive learning strategies.
Cultural Sensitivity: Respect for cultural diversity and enthusiasm for working within an international school and local community.
Commitment to Child Development: Genuine passion for working with young learners and supporting their social and emotional wellbeing.
Collaboration and Communication: Effective interpersonal skills, teamwork, and clear communication with colleagues, students, and families.
Professionalism and Integrity: High standards of safeguarding, self-motivation, and reliability.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline.
Recognised early years teaching qualification (EYTS, PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent).
Minimum two years’ recent experience with children aged 3–6 in a formal teaching environment.
Strong ICT skills and willingness to integrate technology for learning and communication.
