Role Overview
We're looking for a skilled Android Developer to take ownership of our mobile development efforts. This role is suited to someone who can build high-quality Android applications from the ground up, work with SDKs, and confidently lead development initiatives end-to-end. You'll also work across a range of client projects, adapting to different requirements, constraints, and use cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Android applications from scratch, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Build, maintain, and integrate SDKs into mobile applications
- Connect and manage API integrations within both apps and SDK environments
- Work across multiple client projects, adapting to varying technical requirements, timelines, and product needs
- Take ownership of the Android development lifecycle, from architecture to deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including backend, product, and design
- Identify technical improvements and drive best practices in mobile development
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently
Requirements
- Strong experience in Android development (Kotlin/Java)
- Proven track record of building Android apps from the ground up
- 2-3 years of experience encouraged but this is flexible for candidates with extraordinary talent
- Hands-on experience working with and/or developing SDKs
- Solid understanding of API integration and mobile architecture patterns
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of projects
- Comfortable working across diverse client projects with differing requirements and constraints
- Experience leading or mentoring Android development efforts
Nice to Have
- Experience optimizing app performance and scalability
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile
- Experience working in fast-paced or client-facing environments
