Description
We are expanding our Accounting Department and right now we’re looking for an
Accountant to join our team! This professional will be responsible for different processes on accounting, tax and payroll matters within a Latin America scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain accounting records for several local entities in accordance with group policies and local GAAP requirements.
- Collaborate with local accounting and tax outsourcing providers to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Take full ownership of the Cash and Bank reconciliation process, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected and matched in NetSuite on a daily/monthly basis.
- Manage end-to-end employee-related accounts, including the reconciliation of accounts receivable from employees, advances, and expense reimbursements.
- Act as the primary user and owner of the Yokoy expense management system, overseeing the processing, classification, and integration of employee expenses into the general ledger.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet and P&L accounts in NetSuite on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and consistency of financial data.
- Record and review accounting transactions, including expense reports, journal entries, deposits, payroll files, revenue recognition, and foreign currency revaluation etc.
- Act as a Financial Controller for smaller international entities with low transaction volumes, performing all necessary control procedures, reconciliations, and month-end closing in strict accordance with US GAAP and audit requirements.
- Actively participate in audit processes, including preparation of supporting documentation, communication with auditors, and resolving audit queries.
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting quality across the assigned entities.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in accounting or financial control, ideally within an international company.
- Solid understanding of local accounting and tax regulations (Brazil) and strong knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS is a plus).
- Proven experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with expense management tools (experience with Yokoy is a strong advantage).
- Practical understanding of tax compliance and cooperation with external tax advisors.
- Advanced English (B2 or higher) — confident in written and verbal communication.
- Experience with NetSuite is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with AP systems and intercompany processes.
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to manage the full cycle of accounting for small entities independently.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
