TEAM PURPOSE:
The Association of International Development Agencies (AIDA) is a membership-based coordination forum, comprised of more than 80 international non-governmental and non-profit member organisations (INGOs), which share common values and interest in promoting quality development and humanitarian programs in the oPt. AIDA is supported by a professional Secretariat and governed by an Executive Committee (ExCom), which is elected by and from its member organisations.
AIDA strengthens the collective influence and relevance of international NGOs, together with their national partners, in the oPt, by leading collective advocacy, coordinating to address operational challenges, and promoting programming effectiveness and quality. AIDA members contribute to an environment in which humanitarian, development and civil society organisations operate efficiently, deliver effective programming, and are able to raise their voices to influence policy to foster sustainable development, poverty alleviation, and the full realisation of human rights in the oPt.
JOB PURPOSE: The AIDA Operations Coordinator plays a key role in coordinating AIDA’s programming, operations, advocacy, communications and information management systems.
The AIDA Gaza Coordinator will support the AIDA Deputy Director – Gaza in facilitating INGO coordination, information management, and day-to-day engagement with members and partners. The coordinator will play a key role in ensuring effective communication, tracking operational developments, and supporting coordination structures in Gaza.
The position will contribute to strengthening collaboration among AIDA members, supporting evidence-based advocacy, and ensuring timely information flow between field-level actors and AIDA leadership.
The Gaza Coordinator reports directly to the AIDA Deputy Director – Gaza.

KEY STAKEHOLDERS

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Technical, Leadership, People and Resource management)
Generic responsibilities
- Adhere to AIDA policies, guidance and procedures.
- Contribute to AIDA strategy development, proposals and needs analysis.
- Promote the rights of Palestinians in oPt, in line with the AIDA strategy.
- Coordinate implementation of the delegated portfolio.
- Provide regular progress reports to the AIDA Director.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the facilitation of AIDA coordination meetings, including preparation of agendas, minutes, and follow-up on action points.
- Maintain regular communication with AIDA members to track operational updates, challenges, and priorities.
- Support mapping of INGO activities, identifying gaps, duplication, and opportunities for coordination.
- Assist in organizing thematic discussions and working groups (e.g. access, operations, advocacy).
- Assist in developing and maintaining relationships within the humanitarian architecture in Gaza (UN OCHA, UNRWA, UNDSS, UN agencies, donors, PNGO), under the guidance of AIDA senior leadership.
- Participate in Gaza-based coordination platforms and clusters, and support reporting back to the secretariat.
- Assist in liaising with UN counterparts to support information sharing and operational coordination.
- Compile and share relevant information with the AIDA secretariat and coordination structures.
- Support the organization of working groups, meetings, and consultations with AIDA members, UN agencies, and partners.
- Assist in AIDA program management tasks, including reporting and implementation.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data on operational constraints and contribute to reporting on humanitarian space.
- Support AIDA representation in coordination bodies, as delegated by the Deputy Director.
Program and Operational Coordination
- Provide support to INGO leadership by gathering information on operational challenges and field constraints.
- Assist in providing operational guidance to members and liaising with relevant stakeholders to address challenges.
- Support the organization and facilitation of Gaza-focused working groups and coordination meetings.
- Support logistical and administrative arrangements for meetings, missions, and coordination activities.
- Maintain organized records of coordination outputs and key documents.
- Assist in onboarding new members, including sharing guidance materials and coordination structures.
- Contribute to program management tasks, including proposal inputs, budgeting support, monitoring, and donor reporting.
- Assist in administrative, financial, and logistical processes related to AIDA operations in Gaza.
- Support the functioning of AIDA coordination fora through note-taking, agenda preparation, and follow-up actions.
- Participate in relevant coordination fora as delegated.
- Support internal communication and information flow between Gaza-based members and AIDA leadership
Operations, Communications, and Information Management
- Support linkages between INGOs and national NGOs, including engagement with relevant forums.
- Maintain regular contact with operational focal points across member organizations.
- Facilitate information flow between Gaza-based actors and the AIDA Secretariat.
- Collect, consolidate, and analyze information from members on operational footprint, access constraints, and response gaps.
- Support the development of regular updates, situation reports, and briefing notes.
- Maintain up-to-date stakeholder mapping and contact lists.
- Track key developments in the humanitarian, political, and security context and flag relevant updates.
- Support the Deputy Director in preparing advocacy products, talking points, and briefing materials.
- Contribute to documentation of key issues affecting INGO operations (e.g. access, imports, staffing constraints).
- Support engagement with coordination platforms, including follow-up on key action points.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES
ESSENTIAL
- Experience in a complex and volatile humanitarian/recovery context;
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
- Knowledge about own leadership, coordination and facilitation skills/profile;
In addition to:
- A degree in a related field such as international development, political science, communications, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in NGO or UN settings, particularly in coordination, advocacy, communications, and/or program implementation within the oPt
- Strong understanding of political, development, humanitarian, and human rights issues, as well as programming and operational contexts in the oPt, with a particular focus on Gaza.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to network and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines effectively
- Proven experience in organizing and facilitating effective meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Strong digital background, including proficiency in MS Office, database management, online communication tools, and social media platforms.
- Ability to operate effectively in volatile, uncertain, or high-risk contexts while ensuring safety and continuity of work.
- Proactively identifies opportunities, takes initiative, and drives improvements or innovation.
- Persuades and engages others effectively to gain support, build partnerships, and achieve desired outcomes.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
- Must be currently based in Gaza.
