Role OverviewThe Upper School Technology Integrator is a full-time educator and instructional partner serving grades 6-12, embedded in the academic life of the Middle and Upper School and working as a mobile, campus-wide presence across classrooms, common spaces, and divisions. This role builds on the strong impact of the Lower School Technology Integrator to ensure a cohesive, forward-thinking PK-12 approach to educational technology, guided by the belief that technology at Léman should deepen human engagement rather than replace it.While this is not a dedicated technical support position, the integrator works closely enough with faculty and students to serve as a first point of contact for Level 1 needs, channeling more complex inquiries to the technology specialists. Above all, this is a pedagogical leadership role for someone who partners with Administration and faculty to design meaningful learning experiences and guide the school community through the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and emerging technology.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction- Teach Digital Learning as part of the Middle School Art, Theater, and Technology trimester wheel, serving students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Instruct one grade level per trimester, cycling through all three grades across the academic year, with each grade receiving dedicated instruction of 80 minutes every other day, four times per cycle
- Collaborate across the Technology team, academic leadership, and fellow Digital Learning faculty to ensure the curriculum reflects current best practices in digital literacy, AI literacy, maker education, and responsible digital citizenship.
Instructional Partnership, Faculty Coaching, and Curriculum Development- Partner with Middle and Upper School Administration and faculty to design technology-enhanced lessons grounded in IB Approaches to Teaching and Learning (ATL) and aligned with curriculum goals and the IB Learner Profile
- Co-teach and push into classrooms to model effective, purposeful technology integration, demonstrating what it looks like when technology deepens learning rather than substituting for it
- Provide ongoing, individualized coaching to faculty around instructional use of digital tools, AI integration, academic integrity, digital research skills, and discipline-specific workflows
- Design and facilitate professional development sessions for MS and HS faculty, offering both structured workshops and just-in-time support
- Collaborate with the Head of Technology, the Director of Curriculum and the Lower School Technology Integrator to ensure a coherent, developmental PK-12 technology scope and sequence and contribute to the design of interdisciplinary, project-based learning experiences
- Support the development of student showcase opportunities and community-facing events that highlight meaningful uses of technology and student innovation
- Support the onboarding of new faculty to Léman's technology platforms, expectations, and pedagogical approach
AI Integration and Digital Citizenship- Lead student-facing AI literacy experiences and develop frameworks that build critical thinking about AI-generated content and a clear understanding of academic integrity in the age of AI
- Work with academic leadership to create grade-appropriate guidelines for AI use across disciplines and support faculty in applying those guidelines in their courses
- Monitor emerging AI tools and trends, evaluating their instructional value, risks, and alignment with Léman's mission and guiding principles
- Design and lead Digital Citizenship programming for grades 6-12, ensuring students develop the skills and dispositions to engage responsibly and ethically in digital spaces
Maker Culture and Hands-On Learning- Champion and energize Léman's existing maker culture by safely creating and supporting hands-on, design-driven learning experiences across Middle and Upper School disciplines
- Work in close alignment with the Lower School WonderLab and Innovation Center to ensure a coherent PK-12 vision for maker education, guiding the school forward in its commitment to innovation, hands-on learning, and creative problem-solving
- Identify and develop maker-inspired learning opportunities in partnership with faculty, connecting the maker mindset to core curriculum and IB learning outcomes.
Systems, Platforms, and Tool Stewardship- Support faculty in the effective use of core platforms including Google Workspace for Education, PowerSchool, Schoology, and other educational technology tools adopted by the school
- Assist in the evaluation and vetting of new educational technology tools for pedagogical value, data privacy, cost, and alignment with school priorities
- Maintain awareness of and compliance with Léman's Responsible Use Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, and support its consistent implementation with students and faculty
Community and Professional Responsibilities- Attend and participate actively in Middle and Upper School faculty meetings, divisional professional development days, and required school events
- Fulfill assigned school duties (supervision, test proctoring, etc.) as directed by Division Heads
- Engage with the broader educational technology and IB professional community through relevant organizations, conferences, and peer networks
- Represent the school with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine commitment to Léman's mission and values, modeling the Technology Team's guiding principles: Prioritizing Human-Centered Learning and Deep Engagement, and Cultivating Digital Well-being and Ethical Responsibility
Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field; Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field preferred
- A minimum of 3-5 years of successful classroom teaching experience, ideally in grades 6-12
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an EdTech coaching or instructional technology role
- Experience working in an independent school setting is preferred
Qualifications- Strong understanding of instructional technology integration, curriculum design, and digital pedagogy
- Experience with Google Workspace for Education
- Demonstrated knowledge of AI tools and their application in educational settings
- Familiarity with IB Approaches to Teaching and Learning (ATL) frameworks, the IB Learner Profile, and experience with the IB Diploma or MYP Programme is a strong asset
- A clear understanding of the Maker Movement and its role in developing 21st century learners. Experience working in environments that share Léman's maker culture mindset is preferred, including responsible use of tools and equipment and a commitment to safety. EdTech Chair RotationLéman's educational technology program is led collaboratively by the Lower School Technology Integrator and the Upper School Technology Integrator, under the oversight of the Head of Technology. Every two years, one integrator serves as EdTech Coordinator on a rotating basis, receiving a stipend for the additional responsibilities of that role. AI strategy and integration at Léman is a cross-disciplinary, school-wide effort guided by both integrators and anchored by the AI Learning and Strategy Team, a collaborative body that brings together faculty, administration, and staff from across divisions.The EdTech Coordinator serves as the school-wide lead for educational technology program development and coordination. Coordinator responsibilities include:
- Attending Curriculum Council as the educational technology representative
- Facilitating weekly EdTech team meetings, maintaining agendas, and driving follow-through on action items
- Leading the evaluation, development, and maintenance of the school-wide educational technology curriculum and scope and sequence
- Overseeing the annual review and management of educational technology apps and subscriptions
- Serving as the primary liaison for standardized testing coordination (MAP, AAPPL, WIDA) across applicable grades
- Ensuring educational technology programs are vibrant and consistently present across all divisions
