Create your best future and join Westpac as a Lead Quality Engineer.
What’s the role?
You’ll step into a Lead Quality Engineer role where quality is built in from day one, not tested in at the end. Based in Sydney on Warrane, Gadigal Country, this is a full time permanent role with a hybrid way of working that gives you flexibility while staying closely connected to your team.
You’ll lead quality engineering practices across complex technology initiatives, working side by side with engineers, product partners and delivery teams. Your focus will be on shaping quality strategy, uplifting automation and helping teams release with confidence. This is a hands on leadership role where you’ll coach others, challenge thinking and champion modern quality engineering approaches.
You’ll be trusted to bring clarity, influence outcomes and make quality everyone’s responsibility. If you love solving problems, improving systems and seeing your work make a real difference for customers, you’ll feel right at home here.
What do I need?
• Experience leading quality engineering practices in complex delivery environments
• Background in test automation, with tools such as Selenium or Playwright considered a strong advantage
• Experience using tools like Jira and Confluence, with a solid understanding of defect management processes
• Experience working in agile teams alongside engineers and product partners
• Domain experience in banking or lending, with mortgages experience highly regarded
