The Fulton Hogan Life
Life at Fulton Hogan is about making the most of the opportunities, taking responsibility, having a crack, being accountable and making it happen. We live by our REAL values – Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude, Leadership – and we demonstrate these through the good work we do, every day, as one team.
Nau mai haere mai ki tā mātou whānau | Welcome to our Fulton Hogan whānau
We don’t just win work; we deliver projects that matter to local communities that centre around Real Impact, Real Growth, and Real Support.
We have an opportunity for a Bid Manager with a strong civil engineering background to lead and drive winning bids for major civil construction projects across Aotearoa New Zealand. You’ll be an integral part of our team, managing the complete process from opportunity pursuit through to contract award, and making sure we submit cost‑effective bids that genuinely meet our customers’ needs.
Core Areas: Bid Strategy Interface Management | Governance | Risk Awareness
The opportunity:
Day to day, the environment is professional, relaxed and genuinely collaborative. When a key opportunity lands, we switch on as a team and execute with pace and discipline.
You’ll be focused on activities that include:
You will be someone who is not just a strong bid manager on paper, but who is technically sound and has delivered projects operationally. You’ll ideally have lived the construction lifecycle on site or in delivery roles, so you can read a set of documents and instinctively understand where the real risk, complexity and opportunity sit in a tender.
This role will require the ability to travel as required around Auckland, Tauranga and Christchurch.
This can be a clear pathway from site to strategy, ideal for someone moving from Project Manager or Construction Manager roles into work winning.
To be successful you will also have:
Good Work equals Good Benefits
At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.
Creating, connecting and caring for community
Our people regularly donate their time to local causes and initiatives, while at a regional and national level we provide financial support, skills and resources to a wide range of organisations that are strengthening our communities. Our focus aims to also reduce our impact on the environment, and regenerate healthy new ecosystems. We look to partner with others to lift the standards of our industry and show customers lower-impact, sustainable ways of delivering infrastructure.
