

BBIS has an opening for a Teacher of IBDP/IBMYP German Literature (f/m/d)
Location: Kleinmachnow (Berlin region)
Full-time: 30 teaching units per week / 40 working hours per week
Start date: 1st. August 2026
Limited initially until 31st July 2028
Vacation: 60 days per year, taken during school holidays
Salary range: €55,059 - €61,885 gross/year (based on experience/classification) plus annual CPI-based adjustments/potential responsibility stipends
About this role:
We are seeking an energetic, internationally-minded teacher committed to academic excellence, inclusive practice, and holistic education. You will teach IBDP and IBMYP German (Language and Literature - German A), inspiring students from grades 6 to 12 to become confident communicators, creative thinkers, and culturally aware global citizens.
Instruction: Teach IBDP/IBMYP German Literature, fostering a safe, secure, and stimulating learning environment. Incorporate varied instructional models and assessment methods to optimize student learning.
Development: Lead the development of inquiry-based and conceptually driven curriculum units tailored to literature analysis.
Inclusion: Value and make productive use of the diversity of cultures and perspectives within our community, ensuring students of all language profiles (DaF/DaZ to native) feel represented.
Engagement: Motivate students to become creative and critical thinkers who are actively engaged in their own language development.
Support: Promote student well-being and academic growth, demonstrating the ability to teach effectively across a diverse range of abilities and motivations.
Collaboration: Plan collaboratively across disciplines and contribute actively to the school’s ambitious and dynamic community.
Specialized Teaching: Ideally contribute to Theory of Knowledge (ToK) instruction, Personal Project, Extended Essay, and CAS.
Education: Teaching certification (e.g. 2. Staatsexamen or equivalent), preferably with a Master’s degree in German, DaF/DaZ, or a related field.
Experience: Experience teaching the IBDP/IBMYP programme or similar backgrounds. International school experience is a plus.
Language: Native-level fluency in German and highly proficient communication skills in English.
Work Permit: A valid German work permit or the eligibility to obtain one is required.
