Description
BDO Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Outsourcing department on a full‑time, permanent basis.
Our Outsourcing team acts as an extension of our clients’ finance functions, supporting European and global businesses with the preparation of monthly reporting packs and financial statements, accounts payable and treasury processes, and general compliance. Working with a diverse portfolio of clients across industries including aircraft leasing, fintech, media, pharmaceuticals, online retail, and hospitality, this role provides a recently qualified accountant with an excellent opportunity to gain broad, hands‑on industry experience within a leading global accountancy and advisory organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members in BDO Dublin and BDO Mauritius to meet client requirements on daily, monthly, and quarterly cycles
- Review weekly bank reconciliations for multiple clients
- Prepare and review month-end reporting journals in line with client calendars
- Maintain fixed asset registers
- Prepare month-end reporting packs with balance sheet reconciliations to client deadlines
- Liaise with payroll and VAT departments
- Work with accounts payable (AP) teams to manage client AP transaction
- Assist with preparation and review of financial statements under GAAP and IFRS
- Support iXBRL tagging of accounts for submissions to Revenue Commissioners
- Process employee expenses and accounts payable invoices
- Administer AP emails and process client payments through various banking systems
- Communicate with clients regarding account issues and queries
- Prepare weekly timetables and workload schedules for management approval
- Perform additional ad hoc duties as required by management
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Professional Qualification: ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, Accounting Technician, or Business Degree
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar accounting or audit role
- Revenue compliance (VAT/PAYE/PRSI)
- Debtors/Creditors management
- Proficiency in accounting principles and journal preparation
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Sun, Oracle, Xero, CaseWare, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Familiarity with IFRS and GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
