The Manager – Maintenance will lead and supervise a small team of maintenance technicians, providing clear direction, task delegation, and performance oversight. This role oversees all daily maintenance operations, including CMMS management, work order prioritization, and the execution of repairs, while driving accountability through performance tracking and timely completion of tasks; as a key contributor to continuous improvement initiatives. This role also directs all facility maintenance functions across the plant and maintains a hands-on approach, actively supporting troubleshooting and repair efforts as needed. Key Responsibilities: • Hands-on maintenance leader with strong technical proficiency across industrial equipment and systems. • Balance time effectively between wrench-turning (planned/unplanned repairs) and administrative responsibilities, including PM program oversight, parts ordering, and CMMS accuracy. • Lead, manage, and continuously improve all maintenance operations, procedures, and workflows. • Supervise, coach, and evaluate maintenance team members to ensure high-quality, consistent performance. • Develop and maintain CMMS programs, including Preventive Maintenance (PM), purchasing, and parts/inventory management. • Own and drive asset reliability and overall equipment performance. • Lead response and resolution efforts for all downtime events, minimizing operational impact. • Maintain flexibility to support off-hours work, including nights and weekends, for planned and emergency maintenance activities. • Manage the facility’s Maintenance & Repair (M&R) budget, ensuring cost control and efficiency. • Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships; source and procure parts and services as needed. • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hot Work permits, and all safety protocols. • Maintain and improve plant equipment to meet or exceed OEM standards through continuous improvement initiatives. • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Supervisor Responsibilities: • Lead and develop a small team of maintenance technicians, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement. • Manage full-cycle recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and development of maintenance staff. • Deliver timely, constructive performance feedback to support employee growth and accountability. • Establish clear performance expectations and goals; monitor progress and coach team members to achieve results. • Administer employee relations, including disciplinary actions and terminations, in accordance with company policies. • Train and onboard new technicians on maintenance procedures, safety standards, and best practices. What Makes You a Great Fit: • Associate’s degree in a technical field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience and certification. • Prior experience in food manufacturing required. • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics, safety rules, operating manuals, and written instructions. • Proficient in Asset Management/CMMS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems and industrial controls. • Working knowledge of plumbing, pneumatics, and general facility maintenance. • Solid understanding of maintenance principles, concepts, and best practices. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proven ability to foster teamwork and collaborate effectively. • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Workspace Environment: • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach to perform essential job functions. • Capable of reaching above and below shoulder height and moving throughout all areas of the facility. • Ability to climb stairs as needed. • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials using proper body mechanics and multiple muscle groups. • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). • Ability to work in cold (-10°F to 45°F) and wet environments. • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
