JOB SUMMARY The Assistant Manager, Casual Dining is responsible for supporting the Casual Dining Manager in leading all aspects of our Casual Dining operation. The role assists in overseeing multiple outlets including Starbucks, Grouse Grind Coffee Bar, Lupins, Rusty Rail, Beaver Tails, Grizzly Lookout, and other seasonal outlets. This person has a passion for food, beverages, and supporting teams to deliver memorable guest experiences. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Providing premium customer service at all times and maximizing customer service satisfaction • Dealing with customer complaints in a polite and timely manner • Supervision of Lupins Café, Grouse Grind Coffee Bar, Starbucks, Rusty Rail, Beavertails, and all other concession outlets, which fall under the umbrella of Casual Dining • Support and communication with all other F&B outlets and departments within Grouse Mountain • Maintaining relationships with external company partners • Cash floats, cash outs, and deposits (overages/shortages) • Assisting Casual Dining Manager in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of staff members • Maintaining appropriate inventory levels in all Casual Dining outlets • Ensuring all equipment is in working order • Ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of all service areas • Maintaining labor within established budget, reviewing flash report daily, and making adjustments where necessary • Adapting to weather change and acting accordingly • Monitoring food cost and quality • Supervision of both front-end and kitchen staff • Working with employees to sustain a healthy and happy work environment • Working within progressive disciplinary guidelines • Monitor staff to ensure top performance and administer probation and annual evaluations • Process payroll duties in a timely manner and according to pay period schedule • All other duties as required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position provides direct supervision to the Food & Beverage Casual Dining operation including Supervisors and Frontline team members. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES • Certified in Food Safe and possess a Serving it Right certificate • Minimum three years of high-volume restaurant management experience • Experience scheduling staff to maintain labor targets • Strong skills with Restaurant Management Software; Microsoft Outlook; Point of Sale Systems preferred • Strong problem-solving & decision-making skills • Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, and organizational skills through a strong work ethic, innovative thinking, and a positive attitude • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English in a respectful and enthusiastic manner by email, over the telephone, and in person • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate duties amongst a team, with a focus on safety • Excellent work ethic and attitude, with the ability to thrive in a high-volume, challenging environment • Must be able to lift 40 pounds • Available for five days per week and to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends, and holidays WORKING CONDITIONS The Assistant Manager, Casual Dining will perform some of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions. Hours of Operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, shoveling and other forms of manual tasks.
