We’re looking for a motivated GIS Analyst to join our Christchurch-based team.
This role is responsible for supporting field data collection, GIS mapping and analysis, asset management, and GIS solution development. The GIS Analyst will conduct field surveys using GPS and mobile tools, produce and maintain digital maps, and perform spatial analysis to support project outcomes.

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Geographic Information Systems or Geospatial Data Science. • Cartography design and GIS Solution Design/Development. • GIS system administration and asset management systems experience. • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team and across the company with various stakeholders. • Advanced user of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
What You’ll Be Doing | Ngā Kawenga Takohanga
• Conduct field surveys and data collection using GPS equipment, mobile devices, and other GIS tools. • Gather geospatial data related to environmental, infrastructure, or land-use projects. • Collaborate with project managers and GIS analysts to plan and execute field data collection activities. • Create and update digital maps using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Survey123). • Perform spatial analysis, including data overlays, buffer analysis, and spatial queries. • Maintain and improve GIS asset database and models based on industry standards and best practices. • Assist with data integration during contract setup. • Identify opportunities to improve GIS services, developing and documenting GIS tools. • Develop, test, and document GIS solutions to meet project requirements. • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
