Key Responsibilities
As a Service Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in driving departmental success and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
• Forecast departmental goals and develop strategies to achieve them
• Recruit, hire, train, and mentor service and parts department staff
• Manage and administer the department’s annual operating budget
• Monitor department performance and implement improvements to increase profitability and efficiency
• Maintain proper inventory levels to meet the needs of the service department
• Develop pricing strategies that drive profitability while maintaining customer loyalty
• Oversee inventory control, tagging, and stock order procedures
• Implement and manage policies for special orders and parts procurement
• Analyze monthly performance reports, including lost sales, productivity, and profitability
• Collaborate with Service and Body Shop Managers to ensure timely turnaround of parts and repairs
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members when needed
• Lead outside parts sales and counter sales initiatives
• Develop processes that ensure exceptional customer satisfaction
• Enforce company policies, safety standards, and maintain a professional department environment
QualificationsQualifications
• Minimum 2 years of Service Management experience in the automotive industry
• Strong automotive technical knowledge
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency with computers and dealership management systems
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when necessary
