We are seeking a Project Engineer (Power) to join our growing Brisbane office. This is a "real engineering" role focused on high-level power system stability and HV/LV infrastructure. As a member of our national team of 90+ professionals, you will support iconic projects that shape Australia’s energy future—from large-scale BESS installations to complex mining reticulation.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- You will utilize advanced platforms like ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or SafeGrid for load flow, fault level, and protection coordination studies.
- You will assist in and execute the detailed design of HV and LV reticulation, including switchrooms, MCCs, kiosks, and transformers.
- Your work will involve designing and modeling earthing and lightning protection systems, including step and touch potential modelling.
- You will contribute to the technical delivery of renewable energy projects and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- You will perform rigorous arc flash hazard analysis and assist in developing mitigation recommendations for site safety.
- You will prepare professional reports, technical drawings, and project deliverables that meet the high standards of our clients and regulatory bodies.
What You Will Bring to the Role
- You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- You possess approximately 3 to 5 years of proven experience in power system analysis and electrical design.
- You have a strong familiarity with AS/NZS 3000, AS3008, AS2067, and AS1768.
- You are eligible for RPEQ registration or are currently working toward it through Engineers Australia.
- You maintain a commitment to an "open book" methodology, ensuring transparency and trust with clients and team members.
