About the role
Open Finance is one of the most significant shifts in how consumers and businesses interact with their financial data. At Ryt Bank, we believe access to richer financial data unlocks meaningfully better products across credit, money management, and financial wellness. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead this agenda.
This role sits at the intersection of external partnership, internal platform, and customer outcomes. You will own Ryt Bank’s Open Finance programme end to end, starting with our integration with Paynet, and drive the adoption of financial data capabilities across product teams to create real value for our customers.
You will need to be equally strong at strategy and execution, comfortable navigating regulatory complexity without losing sight of the customer, and effective at rallying cross-functional teams around a shared vision for what Open Finance can do for Ryt.
What you will do
- Shape and drive the Open Finance roadmap, balancing short-term delivery milestones with a longer-term vision for how financial data can power better products across the bank.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Paynet integration, from requirements and internal process design through to UAT, go-live, and sustained operations.
- Champion the adoption of Open Finance capabilities across product teams, working closely with consuming pods to understand their data needs and ensuring successful rollout of downstream use cases.
- Own the success metrics for Open Finance, including both product outcomes and operational health metrics such as API reliability, data consistency, and latency.
- Build monitoring and alerting frameworks alongside engineering and data teams to ensure the integration is robust and issues are caught before customers are affected.
- Own the consent experience end to end, ensuring it is clear, trustworthy, and conversion-optimized.
- Partner with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to ensure governance frameworks, reporting, and regulatory obligations are met.
What we are looking for
- Experience shipping products at a fast-growing fintech or digital bank, with a track record of leading high-impact initiatives from ambiguous problem to measurable outcome.
- Deep familiarity with Open Finance or Open Banking, including data sharing frameworks, financial data APIs, consent models, and the regulatory context underpinning them.
- Strong data-driven decision-making, able to define the right success metrics, build a clear picture of performance, and use evidence to prioritise ruthlessly.
- Ability to drive complex, cross-functional delivery involving engineering, data, design, risk, legal, and external partners, with clarity and without losing momentum.
- Intellectual honesty about what is and is not working, and the resilience to navigate ambiguity and course-correct quickly.
- Strong product sense, able to connect infrastructure decisions to customer outcomes and articulate the value of Open Finance in terms that resonate across the business.
- Excellent communication skills, able to align senior stakeholders, engage external partners, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers within the same week.
Nice to have
- Direct experience with Paynet products or Malaysia’s financial infrastructure, such as DuitNow, MyDebit, JomPAY, or the Paynet Open API ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Bank Negara Malaysia’s Open Finance Framework or equivalent frameworks such as UK Open Banking.
- Hands-on experience with open banking or open finance platforms such as Plaid or similar.
- Prior work with credit underwriting or PFM products, with an appreciation for how financial data quality directly shapes model accuracy and customer outcomes.
