The WordPress Developer (SE/SSE) will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites. The role requires strong experience in WooCommerce, custom plugin development, PHP, and multisite setup. The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and scalable web solutions.
WordPress Development
Develop, customize, and maintain
WordPress websites and Multisite networks, ensuring scalability and performance
Build and maintain
custom themes, plugins, and custom post types, including admin panel enhancements for better usability
Manage
user roles, permissions, and access control
across single-site and Multisite environments
Integrate
third-party APIs and external systems
using REST API and AJAX for dynamic functionality
Optimize websites for
performance, security, and SEO, including caching and database efficiency
Troubleshoot and resolve
issues with themes, plugins, custom post types, and server configurations
WooCommerce Development
Implement and manage webhooks to enable
real-time updates
for payment transactions and shipment tracking
Develop, customize, and maintain
WooCommerce-based eCommerce websites
with clean and scalable code
Build
custom WooCommerce plugins
based on business requirements using WordPress coding standards
Integrate WooCommerce with external systems/Third Party using
REST APIs
Develop and customize
payment gateway integrations, including creating custom payment methods via plugins
Customize
product and category pages, including sorting, filtering, and UI/UX improvements
Implement and integrate
order tracking systems
using logistics APIs like Delhivery and Shiprocket
Handle
checkout and cart customizations, including adding custom fields and validation logic
Debug and resolve issues related to WooCommerce, plugins, and third-party integrations
Ensure basic
performance optimization and security best practices
in development
Custom Plugin Development & Integrations (Must Requirement)
Develop custom plugins based on business needs
Modify and enhance existing plugins
Integrate WordPress with third-party tools, APIs, and external systems
Ensure secure and efficient data exchange between systems
Theme Development & Customization
Customize existing themes or build themes from scratch
Ensure responsive, fast, and SEO-friendly design
Multisite Management
Set up and manage WordPress multisite networks
Handle multiple sites, themes, and plugins efficiently
PHP Development
Write clean, scalable, and secure PHP code
Optimize website performance and maintain code quality
Maintenance & Support
Update WordPress core, plugins, and themes regularly
Troubleshoot and fix technical issues
Collaboration
Work closely with designers, developers, and project managers
Understand requirements and deliver solutions on time
Requirements
3-8 years of experience in WordPress and WooCommerce
Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
Experience in custom plugin development and API integrations
Good understanding of WooCommerce features and payment gateway integration
Experience with WordPress multisite setup
Knowledge of MySQL and database handling
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with Git or version control systems
Preferred Skills:
Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations
Familiarity with page builders like Elementor or WPBakery
Experience with AI-powered coding assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, ClaudeCode etc) to enhance development efficiency, debugging, and code quality.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
