- With the guidance of the Associate Director or others in the team, responsibilities will include design strategy, concept design and the production of detailed working drawings.
- Actively seek inspiration and reference from sources outside of the business to support creative design solutions.
- Source reference and carry out research to illustrate a design direction to the clients, working with architects and graphic designers in the project team.
- Produce basic concept work using hand sketches or variety of digital and traditional media to a high standard.
- Assist in assembling presentations using a variety of digital and traditional media, particularly Adobe InDesign.
- Produce, under supervision, drawing packages for Schematic and Detail Stages.
- Source reference material and carry out research to ensure that materials and products are fit for purpose.
- Build knowledge of markets, our clients and their competitors.
- As directed, responsible for some basic project communication, including liaising with contractors, design & construction team and written communications.
- Proficient in creating developed design drawings (DD drawings), responsible for refining the conceptual design into detailed preliminary drawings, including space layout, dimension positioning, material selection and preliminary structural design, to bridge the gap between conceptual design and construction drawings.
- Assist with recording design team or site meetings either by minutes, letters, emails or file notes.
- Provide support to any more junior team members.
Provide ad-hoc support as required.
