The Opportunity The IT team at MIC is a small dynamic team of IT infrastructure, DI equipment and clinical application support professionals. Team members are expected to work together to support the day-to-day operations, projects and best in class clinical systems. We rely on a variety of enterprise technologies to support our business operations and provide our team with challenge and continued professional and technical development. Status: Full-time permanent Location: #203, 11010 – 101 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 4B9 Hybrid: Required to work three (3) days a week in office after probation period. First three months in office five (5) days a week.
Role and Responsibilities The Desktop Administrator position is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting PC systems, software/hardware updates, diagnostics of failing components, and imaging/deployment of new systems. The desktop administrator supports end users to provide excellent and timely customer service and resolve issues with their PCs and other peripheral devices. Responsible for assisting in writing documentation for use by the IT team in support of service delivery. Key Responsibilities: • Builds, maintains and administers physical and virtual desktops, printers, and scanners. • Use Intune to design, build, maintain, deploy, and update images and applications. • Analyze, document, package, test applications in accordance with company security standards and ensure workstations are complying. • Track, manage and resolve root causes of desktop services issues; prevent future incidents. • Work with senior Systems Administrator to drive Group Policy optimizations. • Work with clinical applications team to build, deploy and validate packages and help support clinical applications issues. • Periodically visits remote facilities to perform maintenance, deployment, and installation. • Provide Tier I level support for hardware/software service requests. • Complying with all IT policies including but not limited to, incident management, change management. • Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: • Post-secondary diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business or equivalent. • Minimum of 2 years of Enterprise IT best practices and operational experience. • Strong interpersonal, leadership and customer service skills with ability to interact and cooperate with all levels within the organization. • Experience in designing and deploying desktop images, best practices, and standardization. • Expertise in Microsoft platform-based environment including strong knowledge of MS operating systems and the full office productivity suite. • Expertise in Virtual platform-based environment including good knowledge of Intune and Ominissa Horizon View. • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting Windows 10/11 in an Active Directory environment. • Hands on experience in endpoint imaging and deployment using Intune. • Working knowledge of Omnissa Horizon View (7+) and App Volumes, LAN/WAN networking, storage technologies, and Windows scripting (PowerShell). • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service and communication abilities, and demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills. • Able to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization. • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
