Introduction: Hachette Australia is seeking a Senior Publicist to work on campaigns across all imprints as a member of our high-performing and collaborative Publicity department. This is a full-time permanent position that can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.

About the role:
The Senior Publicist will report to the Head of Publicity and will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating publicity campaigns for local (Australian originated) titles, and selected international books. The successful candidate will have experience with traditional and emerging promotional channels, be passionate about books and the literary community and be able to develop and manage creative campaigns to ensure that our books and authors benefit from maximum exposure. They will also be responsible for managing Hachette Australia’s involvement in several major Australian literary festivals.
About you:
To be considered for the role, you should have at least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the arts, media or entertainment industries. You will possess initiative and be self-motivated to work as part of a distributed team. Experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on large-scale communications campaigns, along with a passion for publicity, ideas and culture, are all prerequisites. Travel and occasional after-hours event attendance will be required.
