Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining and supporting our organization’s computer systems, networks, and hardware. You’ll collaborate with the IT Manager to ensure smooth operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and enhance overall system performance
Requirements
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. User Support:
Onboard new employees, ensuring they have the necessary IT resources
Assist end-users with day-to-day technical inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely solutions
Set up new user accounts, configure access permissions, and manage user profiles as per department’s procedures
2. System Maintenance:
Handle with the consultation of IT Manager the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems
Monitor and maintain company’s servers, email & file systems including the ERP system
Ensure the internal IT structure of the company remains robust and efficient
Handle updates and patches of various software applications (Windows, ERP, etc.)
Keep track of system inventory and documentation
Visit vessels and make audits in respect of the IT performance
3. Network Management:
Assist IT Manager in managing network connectivity and firewall configurations
Monitor the local area network (LAN) for security threats and errors
Collaborate with IT Manager to optimize network performance
Investigate network problems and collect IT usage metrics
4. Security C Backup
Enforce Cyber security policies and procedures to protect data
Manage access controls and oversee network security
Monitor backup and disaster recovery plans to preserve company’s assets
5. Policy Implementation:
Collaborate with IT Manager to enforce IT policies and procedures
Ensure adherence to best practices in IT operations
6. Technology Trends:
Stay abreast of new technology trends
Work with a variety of technologies and systems
Make recommendations for improving the company’s IT systems
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent
experience)
Proven experience of at least 3 years in the Shipping industry in similar positions
Working knowledge of English language
Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and software
Familiarity with security protocols and data protection
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills, team player, self-driven, organized, proactive
Able to translate business needs into technical specifications
Experience with Microsoft 365 Cloud platforms
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
