Chef Mark’s insights shape our menus, refine our kitchen operations, and elevate our service, ensuring every dish reflects culinary mastery. This collaboration also provides our kitchen team with hands-on training, fostering growth and skill development under industry-leading mentorship. Reporting to the Sous Chef, and Executive Chef, the Pizza Chef plays a key role in the kitchen’s daily operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth service execution. Full-time and part-time positions are available starting the end of April through the end of October 2026. Staff housing is available. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and cook high-quality pizzas using both traditional and modern techniques. • Manage dough preparation, stretching, and baking to ensure consistency and quality. • Operate and maintain pizza ovens, ensuring optimal cooking temperatures. • Organize and maintain mise en place for pizza stations to meet forecasted demand. • Follow portion control guidelines to support food cost management. • Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and compliance with food safety regulations. • Minimize food waste and contribute to menu development and quality control initiatives. • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safe kitchen practices. • Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff. • Assist with ordering ingredients and maintaining kitchen inventory levels. • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop seasonal pizza offerings. • Adhere to all health and safety, fire, and security protocols at all times. Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a high-volume pizza kitchen, including wood-fired or stone oven experience. • Culinary diploma is considered an asset but not required. • Valid Ontario Food Handler certification. Work Arrangement: • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment. • Demonstrates a high regard for health and safety, consistently following safe work practices and procedures. • Comfortable working in varied kitchen settings, including: ◦ Indoor and outdoor high-heat industrial kitchens. ◦ Fast-paced service with high production volume. • Physical ability to: ◦ Stand for 90% of the shift. ◦ Lift up to 50 lbs. ◦ Work with sharp knives, hot equipment, and open flames. ◦ Occasionally kneel, push, or pull kitchen equipment. ◦ Work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
