We are looking for an motivated leader to manage the daily operation in our hotel in Akureyri. The hotel features 99 rooms and the Restaurant Aurora. The role involves overall responsibility for daily operations and fostering strong cross-departmental teamwork, with the goal of achieving optimal operational performance and service quality.
Job description
- Oversee daily hotel operation to ensure smooth and efficient performance
- Coordinate and align day-to-day operations across departments, fostering strong teamwork and a cohesive hotel operation in order to drive service excellence and operational performance
- Daily supervision of HR matters, shiftplanning, employee training, quality, compliance and service
- Participation in various human resources matters in collaboration with General Manager and the human resources department
- Support and follow up on operational and financial plans in close collaboration with the General Manager
- Promote a positive work environment and lead by example in communication and professional conduct
- Perform additional operational duties as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel operations, particularly within the rooms division
- Experience in management and human resources is an advantage
- Relevant education beneficial for the role
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster a positive workplace culture
- Organised and independent working style with a strong sense of responsibility
- Solution-oriented mindset and the ability to perform under pressure
- Strong business acumen and ability to work with key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Good general computer skills
- Fluency in Icelandic and English, both written and spoken
