Role Overview
We are looking for a Freelance DevOps Engineer to join a large-scale telecommunications project within a Digital Factory environment. The role focuses on modernizing core systems by transitioning from legacy platforms to scalable microservices architectures, ensuring high availability and performance at scale.
Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments

Support development teams with application deployment on cloud and container platforms (AWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift)

Ensure reliable, automated deployments from development to production

Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to improve delivery speed and system reliability

Implement DevOps best practices (Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, logging)

Manage and optimize containerized applications and microservices architectures

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure scalability and availability

Contribute to platform services setup, including configuration and secrets management

Drive continuous improvement in automation and deployment processes

Support incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive actions
Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role

Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git-based pipelines)

Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift

Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms

Good understanding of microservices architectures

Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana, Elasticsearch)

Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Fluent German (mandatory) and strong English communication skills

Ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams
