They are responsible for administering a well-rounded, comprehensive, instructional program for students in the areas of education assigned by the appropriate Principal.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, half days (4 hours/day)

ABOUT DENVER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

Qualifications
A state/national teaching certificate (Colorado preferred)
A bachelor's degree in the subject area with an education degree
An advanced degree (master's/doctorate) in the subject area is preferred.
Successful experience working with students in a similar position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Teaches general music to K-1 grade following the Colorado State Music Standards
● Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, including traditional and contemporary that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students.
● Plans, rehearses, and directs students in three musical programs each year for the school and community .
● Differentiate music curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and the student body.
● Plans a balanced music program, and organizes daily class time so that preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
● Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during practice, group rehearsals, and music performances.
● Evaluates each student’s musical growth and contribution to the performance of the group that allows everyone to contribute.
● Communicates clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students.
● Works directly with the 2-5 music teacher and performing arts team regarding planning and vertical alignment.
● Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
● Minimum BA in Music or Music Education/Equivalent Experience
● Ability to work with musicians at all skill levels
● Strong instrumental skills, including piano accompaniment
● Orff, Kodaly, or Dalcroze training strongly encouraged
