Student Engagement & Activities (SEA) - Duties & Responsibilities:
Role-specific duties
The Legislative Coordinator (LC) shall:
Serve as the chief lobbyist at Olympia for the ASUWB legislative agenda
File PDC lobbyist reports as required by state law during the legislative session
Serve as the liaison to ASUW Seattle, ASUW Tacoma and GPSS counterparts
With the DOGA, meet separately with the UWB Director of Government and Community Relations and the Health & Wellness Resource Center at the beginning of the academic year. The meeting with the resource center shall be to assess needs for the legislative agenda
Share legislative updates to the Board of Directors and Senate as requested or necessary, but shall at least share updates on the legislative agenda after each legislative cutoff
Serve on the Washington Student Association Legislative Proposal Committee and be a member of the Legislative Liaison Program
Collaborate with the United States Student Association, Washington Student Association, and other organizations on legislative priorities
During the legislative session, may join remotely or be excused from Senate and Board of Directors meetings if unable to attend due to legislative work conflicting
As needed with the Director of Government Affairs:
Coordinate civic engagement initiatives, including coordinating voter registration and facilitating Get Out the Vote efforts
Coordinate the annual Huskies on the Hill lobby day with ASUW Seattle, ASUW Tacoma, and GPSS
Be a member of the Civic Actions Committee
Pay Rate
This position is hourly at $21.30/hour (subject to change on January 1, 2027)

September 1st, 2026 - June 30th, 2026
Employment is dependent on SAF funding approval.
