Director of Specialty Medicine at Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists (CCVS) Salary: $220,000–$245,000 + production (commensurate with experience, qualifications, and schedule)Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is looking for an experienced specialist board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, ophthalmology, or dermatology, with proven leadership skills to serve as Director of Specialty Medicine. Provide leadership, management, and accountability for the specialist team
Ensure consistent standards of care across all specialty services
Work with hospital medical leadership to strengthen quality systems, service alignment, and clinical collaboration
Growth, Retention & Team Development
Support specialist engagement and retention through mentorship, clarity, and thoughtful operational structure
Help lead strategy, growth planning, and specialty support models
Collaborate cross-departmentally to improve patient flow, communication, and the referral experience
Recruiting & Representation (about 15% travel)
Participate in specialty recruiting, interviews, and conference/event representation
Clinical Practice
Keep clinical case responsibilities, spending about half your time on clinical work in your specialty
Business & Department Operations
Contribute to specialty departmental budgeting and specialist compensation planning
Support performance and resource planning while utilizing a vision focused on sustainability and lasting growth
