I. Job Summary:
Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia is looking for experienced Project Officer to be based in Debrebrhan - to coordinate “Countering Harmful Practices F4B Project’’.
The Project Officer will provide overall regional level coordination and support for the Countering Harmful Practices F4B Project, funded by the Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA). This project aims to strengthen local civil society organizations to prevent and respond to harmful practices including Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM), Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), teenage pregnancy, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Amhara region.
The Project Officer will support the effective and timely implementation of the project at regional level, ensuring activities are delivered smoothly, resources are used efficiently, and partnerships are well coordinated. working under the guidance of the Program Technical Lead, the role focuses on day-to-day coordination, monitoring, and reporting of project activities within the assigned regions, in line with approved plans, budgets, donor requirements, and Amref health Africa policies. The Project officer will work closely with regional government bureaus, Plan International Ethiopia, and local implementing partners to facilitate collaboration, address implementation challenges, and support the achievement of project results. The role will contribute to promoting gender equality, disability inclusion, and climate-sensitive approaches in regional implementation.
